GURNERS RESERVE

Public BBQ

Tucked along the Fourth Creek Trail, Gurners Reserve delivers a quintessentially Australian family experience beneath towering Moreton Bay figs whose massive root systems double as natural climbing gyms for adventurous kids. The majestic canopy provides blessed shade while families fire up the twin BBQs for weekend gatherings. Children gravitate toward the secure playground with its climbing frame and slides, though many prefer scaling the ancient fig trees that dominate this leafy sanctuary. The half basketball court adds sporting options, while generous grass areas accommodate everything from picnics to impromptu games. The modern toilet block stands out with its musical accompaniment - a quirky touch that somehow works. Benches and picnic tables dot the grounds, creating perfect spots for watching kookaburras survey their domain from above. While mosquitoes can be persistent during warmer months, the shade and facilities make this a reliable choice for Good Friday gatherings and regular family outings.
